Tahoe Town Hall is a free event for the community to learn the facts and openly answer questions concerning issues in our community and its progress.

Get Informed:
The first half of the event will look at how local rules are made, become law, and who enforces them. Local jurisdiction representatives will explain how their rules interact with each other and take a closer look at local Vacation Rental Ordinances and Plastic Bag Bans.

Get Engaged:
Questions and answers will follow the panel presentation. Every person in attendance will have an opportunity to ask questions. You can submit your questions online before the event by submitting your question before hand or by using #TahoeTownHall on Twitter or Facebook.

ABOUT TAHOE REGIONAL YOUNG PROFESSIONALS CIVIC ENGAGEMENT:

civic engagement

For definition’s sake, civic engagement is the broader motif, encompassing service-learning but not limited to it. One useful definition of civic engagement is the following: individual and collective actions designed to identify and address issues of public concern.

TRYP keeps an eye out for important issues that can shape Lake Tahoe’s future, and then shows you how to learn more and get involved if you’re interested. Recent examples of TRYP’s Civic Engagement Program include partnering to produce the El Dorado County Supervisor Forum; our “How to Get Involved with Local Government” workshop and ongoing posts to our blog and Facebook page about upcoming redevelopment meetings.
