Tahoe Production House loves our repeat clients, and Tony Clark has been one for years! We have enjoyed working with him over the years, and helping him shoot video of his funny and amazing magic shows. Recently we got to shoot one of his shows at The Loft in Lake Tahoe. Check out a little more about him here, and go see the show!
Tony Clark was born Antonio Gublet in Stamford, Connecticut. His fascination with entertainment began with ventriloquism at the tender age of six. This, in turn, sparked his interest in magic. Throughout his grammar school years, he began winning many talent competitions. In both 1984 and 1985, Tony was the winner of the Teenage Magician of the Year stage contest for the International Brotherhood of Magicians (IBM) Ring #97 of Stamford. By age 18, he had already gained international recognition for his accomplishments.
In 1986, Tony had the honor of studying the art of magic and stage movement with the master of misdirection, Tony Slydini, as did world-famous illusionist Doug Henning and many other well-known professionals.

He met Slydini at the Tannen’s Magic Jubilee in New York City. At that time , Tony was pulling away from magic. However, after taking private lessons by Slydini, it literally empowered and encouraged Tony to continue his craft in the magical arts. That 2 1/2 year period of study allowed Tony to become one of the top magicians in the world. In 1988, Tony won the World Class Stage Contest for the Society of American Magicians. For the next 10 years Tony became a regular performer at the world-famous Magic Castle in Hollywood, California, as well as in casino showrooms and nightclubs from Las Vegas and Puerto Rico to Europe and Japan. In 1994 Tony was nominated Stage Magician of the Year by the Magic Castle in Hollywood. In 1996 Tony produced and performed in his hit Magic Revue Show called “Phantasy”.

This show made Lake Tahoe entertainment history for being the first show to ever run four years straight! In 1998 the Lake Tahoe Boys & Girls club presented Tony with the Volunteer of the Year Award for his work with underprivileged kids in the community. In 1998 the International Magicians Society gave Tony the “Magician of the Year” award and in 2000 he was presented the “World Magic Award” on CBS TV. Next, Tony was asked to create and perform a spectacular escape on the “Worlds Most Dangerous Magic II” on NBC. He also appeared on “Masters Of Illusion” – CBS TV and numerous TV shows around the world. Tony has consulted on TV Pilots with the Academy Award winning producer of “The Illusionist”- Tom Nunan and actor Steve Valentine (Crossing Jordan).

He has created magic segments and coached Nicholas Cage for his film “Next” and John Malkovich for his film “The Great Buck Howard”. Tony has also worked on many hit TV shows like “House MD”, “Monk” and “Brothers and Sisters.” For the past twenty years, Tony has literally traveled the world performing, producing and creating for live stage shows, TV, Film & Videos. Tony directed a Magic Revue show called “Direct From Broadway – The Magic of Joseph Gabriel” at the Monte Bleu Casino Resort in Lake Tahoe, NV as well as directing 8 of his own hit shows in the last 6 years. Following many years of hard work, Tony began producing and starring in his own full evening show, Phantasy, at the Horizon Hotel and Casino in Lake Tahoe, Nevada.

Due to his many other contributions to the art of magic over the years, Tony was awarded the Best Classical Magic Act Award at the World Magic Awards which aired on CBS television. If that were not enough, Tony also has his own production company under which he manufactures a unique line of magic products catered to professional magicians the world over. On January 12, 2012, Tony Clark and Paul Reder produced “Illusion Fusion,” starring Alex Ramon at the Horizon Casino Resort in Lake Tahoe, Nevada. When not creating original effects for other performers, Tony lectures on all areas of magic around the world.
