Tahoe Nalu Festival!
August 13 & 14, 2016.
Hawaii comes to the mountains in August, as the Ta-Hoe Nalu Paddle Fesitval hits Lake Tahoe’s North Shore. And it is extra-special this year, as the event celebrates a decade of fun on the water. It’s three days of races and other paddling fun, clinics, demos, music, vendors and exhibits. Exhibitors include dozens of organizations and businesses involved with paddleboards and gear, water sports apparel and the outdoor lifestyle, and the food selection at the festival ranges from island to farm with fresh, healthy and delicious offerings.
Friday, August 12, kicks it all off in the afternoon with clinics on fitness and yoga, talks and demos on different products, booths with vendors, a food court and the Kona beer garden featuring live music. The live music each afternoon is a new feature for this year’s event, and there are several new races slated for the 10th anniversary celebration.
Saturday starts bright and early, with race registration beginning at 7 a.m. and the festival’s opening ceremonies taking place at 7:30. Races take place throughout the day as do demonstrations and clinics, and the vendor village is open for participants to explore the wares and exhibits.
It wraps up Sunday with race registration again at 7 a.m. and races beginning at 9. At 11 a.m., check out a new addition to this year’s line-up, the Big Brothers/Big Sisters Sand Castle Contest. Clinics, demos and vendor exhibits also continue all day, on up until the closing ceremonies at 4 p.m.
