Classical Tahoe Video Production – Summer 2017

By August 16, 2017Video

Tahoe Production House was honored to attend two performances during the summer concert series for Classical Tahoe.  Below are the two shows we attended, with the Violin show being shared with students in schools this fall.  This is such a neat event and a great organization.

July 29 at 7 PM

“Firsts. A World Premiere and Brahms’ 1st”

Dvořák: Slavonic Dances Op. 46 Nos. 1, 2 & 4
López-Gavilán: Emporium for Solo Piano and Orchestra (World Premiere)
Aldo López-Gavilán, piano
Intermission
Brahms: Symphony No. 1

Be swept along by the works that made these three composers famous. Dvorak’s Slavonic Dances will set toes tapping with charm, zest and percussive power, leading us right into Aldo López-Gavilán’s dazzling technique and rhythmic fire as soloist in his own composition for piano and orchestra, proving his status as “simply a genius, a star.” As a finale to the first weekend, Brahms’ First Symphony, fourteen years in the making, explodes with layer on layer of splendor, drama and energy.  It’s an evening to share in the thrill of the creative genius.

This concert and Aldo Lopez-Gavilan’s appearance is sponsored in celebration of the recent cultural exchanges between the United States and Cuba.

Family Concert “All About the Violin”

Kaia Selden, violin

Families will join in the magical journey of this remarkable instrument and answer questions like: “Why was the Violin invented? Where did it come from? Are some violins played today really hundreds of years old?”  With a truly special guest – 11-year old star violinist Kaia Seldon – plus Classical Tahoe soloists and dramatic music played by the full Classical Tahoe Orchestra, families will fly through history with toes tapping and hearts bounding.
