Enhancing Accessibility: Tahoe Production House Creates Spanish Voiceover and Subtitles for Tahoe Keepers Training Video

At Tahoe Production House, we are passionate about utilizing our expertise in video production to support organizations dedicated to environmental conservation and education. We recently had the privilege of collaborating with the Tahoe Resource Conservation District (Tahoe RCD) to enhance their training videos for the Tahoe Keepers program. Our goal was to make the content more accessible by re-recording the voiceover in Spanish and creating custom subtitles and closed captions.

Tahoe Keepers: Protecting Lake Tahoe’s Natural Resources
The Tahoe Keepers program plays a crucial role in safeguarding the pristine natural resources of the Lake Tahoe region. With a mission to promote conservation, stewardship, and knowledge of the area’s environmental treasures, the Tahoe RCD provides leadership and innovative environmental services to all stakeholders. As one of the many Conservation Districts across the nation, the Tahoe RCD actively engages in protecting land, water, forests, wildlife, and other natural resources.

Expanding Access and Inclusivity:
Recognizing the importance of reaching a wider audience and fostering inclusivity, the Tahoe RCD approached Tahoe Production House to enhance the accessibility of their training videos. Specifically, they sought to create a more inclusive experience for Spanish-speaking individuals by providing a Spanish voiceover and subtitles for the Tahoe Keepers self-inspection training program.

Tahoe Keepers: Self-Inspection Training for Hand-Launched Watercraft:
The Tahoe Keepers program focuses on educating paddlers and users of hand-launched watercraft, such as canoes, kayaks, and paddleboards, about the prevention of aquatic invasive species (AIS) in Lake Tahoe. By participating in the free self-inspection and decontamination training, individuals gain vital knowledge on how to stop the spread of AIS and protect the ecological integrity of this remarkable lake.

Enhancing Accessibility:
To make the training videos more accessible and inclusive, Tahoe Production House worked closely with the Tahoe RCD to re-record the voiceover in Spanish. This ensured that Spanish-speaking individuals could easily understand and engage with the content. Additionally, our team created a custom .srt file that incorporated subtitles and closed captions in both English and Spanish, making the information accessible to individuals with hearing impairments or those who prefer to read the content.

Promoting Environmental Stewardship for All:
By providing a Spanish voiceover and creating subtitles and closed captions, the Tahoe RCD and Tahoe Production House aim to empower a broader audience to actively participate in the protection of Lake Tahoe’s natural resources. The collaborative effort supports the mission of the Tahoe Keepers program by fostering greater awareness, knowledge, and engagement among diverse communities.

At Tahoe Production House, we are committed to utilizing our video production expertise to create meaningful and impactful content. Collaborating with the Tahoe RCD to enhance the accessibility of the Tahoe Keepers training videos through Spanish voiceover and custom subtitles was a fulfilling endeavor. We believe that promoting inclusivity and expanding access to important environmental education resources is a crucial step towards fostering a sustainable future for Lake Tahoe and beyond.
