Cascade Kitchens’ New Brand Book Defines Its Local Flavor

Tahoe Production House is proud to share the completion of a comprehensive brand book and identity system for Cascade Kitchens, South Lake Tahoe’s first-ever food hall. Designed to reflect the community-focused spirit and dynamic culinary offerings of this new destination, the Cascade Kitchens Brand Book serves as the foundation for all visual and messaging efforts—from signage and web design to social media, vendor communications, and beyond.

This project was much more than logos and colors—it was about defining who Cascade Kitchens is and how it shows up for the South Shore.

Defining a Brand Built for Tahoe Locals

At the core of our work was the mission to help Cascade Kitchens stand apart in Tahoe’s dining scene by embracing its local-first ethos. We started by developing a clear brand positioning strategy and unique value proposition that communicates what Cascade is all about:

“Cascade Kitchens is a vibrant, all-season gathering place that blends the elevated experience of a service-forward restaurant with the warmth and welcome of a true community hub.”

This positioning laid the groundwork for compelling storytelling, vendor recruitment, press outreach, and everyday guest engagement.

Visual Identity Refinement

From there, we polished and unified Cascade Kitchens’ visual identity, creating a cohesive system for the brand’s colors, typography, logo usage, and photography style. The result? A toolkit that allows the Cascade team and their partners to present a consistent, recognizable brand across every touchpoint.

Visual Deliverables Included:

  • Logo usage guidelines and variations

  • Defined color palette

  • Typography system

  • Image and illustration style guide

  • Finalized Brand Style Guide PDF

Establishing a Local, Approachable Voice

Cascade Kitchens now speaks with a clear, confident voice that feels like your favorite Tahoe neighbor—warm, welcoming, and a little witty. Our messaging framework outlines voice characteristics, tone guidelines, and real-world examples for use on social media, in newsletters, print ads, and more.

Voice at a Glance:

  • Neighborly: “Come by after work — we’re pouring cold ones ‘til late.”

  • Casually Elevated: “Fire-roasted street tacos to duck confit sliders — we’ve got your craving covered.”

  • Locally Rooted: “Crafted right here. Shared with everyone.”

  • Seasonally Inspired: “Have you tried this month’s cider? Hint: it tastes like golden hour.”

Messaging Pillars That Matter

To guide Cascade Kitchens’ future communications, we developed six core brand messages that speak to different audiences and touchpoints. From opening announcements and vendor spotlights to community partnerships and event promotion, these messages help keep the voice and vision consistent.

Examples Include:

  • “A Food Hall Built for Tahoe Locals”

  • “Seven Local Vendors. One Delicious Destination.”

  • “Meet You at The Thirsty Bear”

  • “A New Home for Tahoe’s Culinary Creators”

Why Brand Books Matter

A brand book is more than a guide—it’s the DNA of your business identity. For a startup like Cascade Kitchens, especially one supporting a variety of independent vendors, this clarity and consistency is essential. It ensures that everyone—from the bar team to social media managers—can confidently represent the same mission and voice.

Tahoe Production House is honored to have brought this vision to life and to support Cascade Kitchens as it opens its doors to the community.
