There’s something magical about live theater.
From the opening curtain to the final bow, every performance represents months of rehearsals, creativity, and hard work from students, directors, volunteers, and families. Capturing those moments with the same level of care is what we do best.
Tahoe Production House recently partnered with Tahoe Valley Performing Arts to professionally record their production of My Son Pinocchio Jr., creating a polished multi-camera performance video that preserves the show for performers, families, and the community to enjoy for years to come.
Capturing Every Moment
Live theater only happens once.
Every song, dance number, line of dialogue, and audience reaction unfolds in real time, making preparation and reliable production essential.
For this production, Tahoe Production House utilized a two-camera setup designed to capture both the full scope of the stage and the smaller moments that bring the performance to life.
Our production setup included:
- Multi-camera coverage
- Locked wide-angle stage camera
- Follow camera capturing performances and key moments
- Direct audio feed from the venue’s PA system
- Secondary onboard audio for backup and synchronization
- Continuous recording throughout the performance
This approach allowed us to preserve the energy of the live production while creating a dynamic viewing experience in post-production.
Professional Post-Production
Once the final curtain closed, the work shifted into the editing suite.
Every performance recording receives careful attention to ensure the finished video reflects the quality of the production itself.
Post-production services included:
- Multi-camera editing
- Audio synchronization and sweetening
- Professional audio leveling and mixing
- Color correction and balancing
- Opening titles and branded graphics
- Tahoe Valley Performing Arts and Tahoe Arts Project branding
- Final mastering for digital delivery
The result is a polished performance recording that feels engaging for viewers while accurately preserving the live theatrical experience.
Supporting Arts Education
Youth theater programs provide students with opportunities to develop confidence, creativity, teamwork, and communication skills that extend far beyond the stage.
Productions like My Son Pinocchio Jr. showcase not only talented young performers but also the dedication of teachers, directors, volunteers, and families who make these programs possible.
We’re honored to help preserve those moments through professional video production so students can revisit their performances and families can continue celebrating these memories long after the final applause.
A Lasting Keepsake
Unlike a smartphone recording from the audience, professionally produced performance videos provide a complete viewing experience.
Our multi-camera approach allows audiences to enjoy:
- Wide views of the entire stage
- Close-up moments during key performances
- Clear, balanced audio
- Smooth camera transitions
- Professional color and image quality
The finished production becomes more than a recording—it becomes a lasting keepsake that documents months of hard work and artistic achievement.
Congratulations to the Cast & Crew
Congratulations to every student performer, director, volunteer, family member, and supporter who helped bring My Son Pinocchio Jr. to life.
It was a privilege to capture another outstanding production for Tahoe Valley Performing Arts, and we’re grateful for the opportunity to continue supporting local arts education through professional video production.
