TPH New WordPress Website Design

Tahoe Production House was recently asked to redesign Lake Tahoe Boat Rides website with two required elements: build it on a WordPress website framework for easy future updates and build it on a responsive design so that vacationers in Tahoe would have a better user experience if viewing Tahoe Boat Rides website from their phone or tablet device.

Lake Tahoe Boat Rides original website was built on a Yahoo website builder template many years ago. The website was starting to feel dated. Given that the owners of Tahoe Boat Rides are a young, active, modern couple, combined with the fact that Tahoe Boat Rides ‘core product’ is all about experiencing the beauty of Lake Tahoe, it was time that their website reflected both their personalities and the visual beauty of Tahoe.  One of the most exciting things about designing this website was their huge photo library. Tahoe Boat Rides recently did a photo shoot in Rubicon Bay. The photos that came out of this shoot were absolutely stunning and became the foundation of the website design. We wanted to tell the “story” of the Tahoe Boat Rides products and guest experience via this incredible photo library.

The core website design utilizes massive imagery of people recreating on the Lake using the various products Tahoe Boat Rides offers: power boats, jet skis, paddle boards and kayaks. Other considerations we incorporated into the website design were:

  • Better navigation to direct users to their core services via a simplified menu structure and services links under the slideshow on the home page
  • Make contact information prominent throughout the website. Regardless of where a guest is on the site, contact and booing information should be visible at all times
  • Highlight their incredible Yelp profile / customer reviews: We installed a Yelp testimonial widget on the homepage
  • Responsive website design: We needed this website to work well regardless of what size screen or type of device the website is viewed on
